The area is varied in both climate and topography. Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams dominate the western horizon, and from higher viewpoints, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Jefferson, and Mt. Rainer can be seen. To the east, the Horse Heaven Hills plateau forms a gently rolling plain that slopes southward to the Columbis river. Beautiful river valleys and deep, narrow gorges add another dimension to the area's offerings.
